The song that got me into Clazziquai, also my favorite song of their entire discography.. I never get tired of it. If you like “Love Recipe” from their latest album, you definitely have to listen to this song.

Been looping it a lot when it was released a few months back, but never got around to posting it. Love Recipe was an instant favorite. It’s in the same style/genre as “Romeo N Juliet”, which is probably one of my favorite songs of all time, so this one was a real treat!

The amount of emotions Jeong Jun Il gives on this album is amazing and will give you shivers down your spine. “Hold Me” portrays the concept perfectly. The vocals are amazing enough, but the guitar riffs and kicking drums give it an almost cinematic romantic movie feel. It is almost like you’re in a drama. Whatever you feel whilst listening to this song, it will touch you emotionally, and even spiritually.

If you’re not into the oldies, just give it a try! Kim Gun Mo is one of the most popular and loved oldies singer. He is incredibly popular in Korea, especially after participating in MBC’s I Am A Singer. This song is about how he dreamed to be a singer but his parents would tell him that he was too short or not good looking enough. Look at him now!

Album: 1집 Panic“Snail” is a one of those classic oldies songs that is still loved and covered today. Personally, my favorite cover is Kyuhyun’s (of Super Junior). This is the original artist, Panic. The song itself is very popular because of its slow rhythm and legatos that seem to bring something reminiscent or nostalgic to the listener. The lyrics are about a struggling person who finds a snail that promises to find the ocean that no snail has ever found. Although the road is rough and it may not succeed, it will go forever and follow the sound of the waves until it finds it.

The original is much more upbeat with less legato and a nice little tambourine in the back. Lee Jae Hun and Funny Funkiz did a fantastic job of modernizing it - I actually like it more (and I almost always love oldies more, just because they’re oldies).

Album: 2집 Desire to FlyLim Jae Bum is someone who is an icon in Korean music. However, he is not very well known to most international fans. Back in the late 80’s, he was part of popular heavy metal band ‘Sinawi (시나위)’. He was also part of groups such as Asiana and Rock in Korea until he went solo in 1991 with his first album, On the Turing Away. Soon after, he went into hiatus for six years, then came back with his second album, Desire to Fly and this as his title song. This is an extremely special and famous song of his that has meaningful lyrics and a beautiful melody.
